Member (MIScT)

Member grade reflects a significant level of technical competence, professional responsibility, and applied expertise within STEMM, Creative Industries, Artificial Intelligence and technical environments.

This grade demonstrates that you are an experienced and capable professional contributing meaningfully to your field.

Who is Member for?

Member grade is open to individuals who are:

  • Holders of a Level 3 qualification (or above) in a STEMM, Creative, AI or technical discipline
  • Experienced professionals with typically three or more years of post-qualification practice
  • Working with established responsibility in their technical or specialist field
  • Demonstrating consistent applied expertise and professional competence

If you are an established practitioner contributing meaningfully in your discipline, Member grade recognises your professional standing and experience.

Members are entitled to use the post-nominal letters MIScT. A Member may apply for upgrading to Fellow, please see the relevant page for further information on Fellowships.

Member Subscription Fee: £57.00 per annum

** Please note that IST professional membership subscriptions of employees are eligible for UK tax relief, under Section 344 of the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003. Claims need to be made by members individually directly via HMRC

Pathway to Fellowship

Members may apply to progress to Fellowship (FIScT) upon meeting the criteria for advanced professional impact and sector contribution.

Applications can be submitted by email to memberships@istonline.org.uk using the standard application form which is available for download below (scanned copies of qualification certificates submitted by email are accepted).
