New Professional Register for the Creative Industries and Technologies

Technical Workforce accreditation framework open for applications

Today, Friday 10th May, the IST (Institute of Science and Technology) is pleased to announce that a new professional register for the technical workforce in the Creative Industries and Technologies is now open for applications.

Endorsed by Creative UK, the Creative Registration Framework (CRF) offers professional accreditation for those working in the Creative Industries and Technologies. It aims to provide parity with existing schemes available in fields such as Science and Engineering.

In the first instance, a mid-career register has been developed and made available to creative technologists within the Higher Education sector.

Following on from this initial launch, the IST plans to extend the register to early career and senior technical professionals.

Commenting on the CRF, Terry Croft MBE, Chair of the IST said:

We have been working collaboratively with Creative UK and other arts organisations across Higher Education (HE) and industry to bring the framework to technical personnel who work in these vital areas.

We have listened to the technical communities across various sectors, and their demand for a specific creative industries/technologies register, and now this has come to fruition. At the IST, we look forward to receiving applications and seeing deserving individuals awarded their accreditation.”

Simon Hooper, Head of Membership, Creative UK said:

“The Creative Industries are rich with highly skilled professionals, working across a range of specialities.

We’re pleased to see accreditation being made available for individuals, in acknowledgment of the amount of talent that powers our amazing sector.”

Create. Innovate. Collaborate. Working together for a brighter, more creative world.
