The Science Council has unveiled the findings of its Workforce Skills Conference, held at the Institute of Physics on October 19, 2023. This gathering served as a platform for the science, research, and innovation sectors to evaluate the effectiveness of current policies in addressing the UK’s skills challenges, explore further improvements, and discuss the community’s role in bolstering these policies.
The event facilitated a collaborative environment among the Science Council’s diverse membership, which includes 35 professional bodies and learned societies. This unity allowed us to present a unified stance to policymakers on matters of broad scientific interest.
