Profile: James Davoll, MIScT RPCiT
Congratulations James, who has become one of the first few individuals to achieve their professional registration with the new Creative Industries and Technologies accreditation.
James Davoll is an experienced Technical Manager with a proven track record in the higher education sector.
Currently, at Newcastle University, he leads the School of Arts and Cultures’ technical team, overseeing activities across Music, Media, and Fine Art facilities.
In addition to this role, James is a Lecturer in Audio-Visual Post Production at Queen’s University Belfast, where he delivers a unique course aimed at enhancing digital media skills in Northern Ireland, addressing strategic economic, social, and cultural needs.
An active researcher in creative ethnography, James’s award-winning film projects have been published in peer-reviewed journals, selected for international film festivals, and distributed across the UK and North America. His expertise spans lecturing, training, and all aspects of video and sound production. He is proficient in creative media applications such as Adobe CC, Pro Tools, and DaVinci Resolve.

RPCIT registration is exclusively available to IST members – Applicants who are not already IST members will need to join the IST. Being part of our professional networks is essential for professional accreditation.
