Dr. Steve, Wai Yin Mung awarded Fellowship

“I have more than 15 years of industrial experience and operations in the design and manufacturing of commercial and consumer electronic products from the work of hardware and software to system level.

It is my honour to be elected to become a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology and I am glad that IST awarded this to me in acknowledgement for my professional contributions over the years.”

Dr. Steve, Wai Yin MUNG received his B.Sc. (with first-class honour) in Applied Physics from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in 2006. He finally received his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Department of Electronic Engineering from CityU, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

He has more than 15 years of industrial experience and operations in the design and manufacturing of commercial and consumer electronic products, for examples, RF integrated circuit design, supply chain and quality control, automation production system control, packaging assembly and reliability engineering, audio/speech signal processing. As well as this, he is now an adjunct associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He is the co-founder and company representative in PolyU – Innovation Technology (HK) Audio and Speech Signal Processing Joint Laboratory. He has published and invented more than 100 journals, conference papers, China/US patents related to wireless circuit/speech/audio technologies. He is Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology, Senior Member of IEEE, and Chartered Scientist with Science Council (UK).

His current research interests include microwave/millimeter-wave circuit, antenna engineering, audio and speech signal processing, acoustic engineering and IoT applications.

Congratulations from the IST, and very well deserved. IST Fellows contribute to the Institute and to the wider technical community.
