The Institute of Science & Technology’s AI Special Interest Group is delighted to announce the next in its series of seminars and welcomes Kiran Nasir Gore, Dr Mika Lehtimäki, Dr Rupert Macy-Dare and Bhagyashree Pancholy.
This panel discussion brings together four seasoned international legal professionals with more than a keen interest in AI developments relevant to the law. Our aim is to explore what AI means to legal practitioners and how AI currently is and is likely to affect legal decision making. In particular, we’ll look at hugely important ethical dimensions affecting all AI developments, often overlooked in the frenzy to simply get the technology working; the more mundane need to handle document filing in a smart manner; and other necessary elements of any legaltech implementation.

Kiran Nasir Gore

Kiran Gore is an arbitrator, dispute resolution consultant, and counsel in Washington, DC with fifteen years of experience in public and private international law, international development, foreign investment strategies, international dispute resolution, and legal investigation and compliance efforts.
Dr Mika Lehtimäki
Lawyer and Founder Bayesian Realm
Dr Lehtimäki is Chief of the Game (AI) at Bayesian Realm (BR), a company that builds predictive ML/AI models for complex financial and legal systems. His work encompasses AI engineering and algorithmic game theory. Mika is involved in structuring and negotiating corporate and financial transactions – most often in ‘bet-the-company’ scenarios. He has extensive experience of Finnish law and common law and also specialises in financial and game theoretical analysis. Mika’s expertise means that he often works with company boards and institutional investors active in investment management.
Bhagyashree Pancholy
Lawyer and AI startup founder
Bhagyashree Pancholy has 12 years’ technology law experience specialising in privacy and biometrics privacy, intellectual property and AI. She has served as the product counsel for AI companies for a decade and has worked in the EU, Asia Pacific/Asia and North American regions.
Bhagyashree has been a founder of two AI startups in Switzerland. The first made self-learning AI chatbots and the second provided AI and algorithmic auditing services.
Ms Pancholy has also advised many companies and government departments on privacy; and more recently on deployment and use of responsible AI, and on AI data governance.
Dr Rupert Macy-Dare
