The future of technical services in HE – implications for the technical workforce
An interactive seminar for technical managers and other key stakeholders
Monday 21 January 2013 from 12.30 – 4.30pm
Philips Room, Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London, W1B 1NT
As the title of the seminar suggests, the context is far reaching. It opens the important issue as to leadership roles and responsibilities in mapping out what needs to be done.
The Science Council fully acknowledges that managers of technical resources and technician team leaders have the pre-eminent experience in issues related to technical services and the skilled people who deliver them. This seminar will explore how their expertise can be coordinated to explore the issues relevant to the profound changes that are evident in UK universities, largely driven by the challenges arising from the current economic situation etc.
